One of my favourite photos #2 – Polar Bear

To date, one of the finest wildlife experiences I have ever had, and there have been many.

Squashed into a small rubber Zodiac with a few other like-minded souls, a few metres from the edge of the ice with this beauty prowling around, takes some beating. We had already watched him for some time from the ship while he smashed a seal on the ice, cameras clicking away in the background. Once we realised that he was not going to wander off, we launched the zodiacs and made our way closer.

Curiosity eventually got the better of him and he wandered over towards us, sniffing the air.
