10 years of Nature Photography at Bushy Park, 2005-2015.
Way back in the days of a thing called Velvia film (1998- 2000), I used to hike around Richmond Park taking nature images of all manner of things (I had just arrived in the UK). Then digital cameras started to take a foothold in the market, and I started to look at a system to replace my film-based Minolta system. I met a birdwatcher in Richmond who asked whether I had seen the kingfishers at Bushy Park. I said I had no idea where that was and so the day I received my Canon 20D, I looked at the map and went to have a look at this place.
That was back in 2005, and the other day I realised that I had called Bushy my “local patch” for 10 years. So here are some of my favourites out of the many that I have taken there. I do love the winters at Bushy as there is a lot of standing water, which means a lot of morning mist. Hope you enjoy them as I try to showcase the diverse place it is.
