While editing this image that I took back in 2010, I was about to toss it into the digital trash, when something caught my eye and stopped me.
I mean, let’s face it, the background is a mess, it is too tight a crop, it was an overcast day, the poor creature is a bloody mess (a natural fight with another male), there was nothing unusual about the image and the story of the image was just that – a tired and beaten up Rhino. And then I saw them, the reason that makes this one of my favourite images. Something small that made the difference and saved it from the trash.
It is no prize winner, that is for sure, but it tells a story of the interaction between species.
